As I've been sharing some amazing stories of women during my "March of Inspiring Mums" interview series, it's got me thinking a lot about why I set up Halia Rose. I've also been reflecting on my very own journey into motherhood and how I felt on the eve of becoming a mum for the first time...
Today's interview is with Stacey Harrison, mum to three children from Leeds.
An ex physiotherapist, motherhood led Stacey down a new career path with the aim of trying to find a flexible job and income around her young family. She decided to set up her business We Are Scamp with her sister.
Today Stacey tells us why dividing her day between mum duties and work commitments enables her to feel less stressed and actually get more done. She also recommends not being too shy to ask for help when you need it and getting outside for fresh air helps her children open up and be chatty!
Today we'll be featuring the lovely Amanda Overend who lives in Leicestershire. She's a mum of 3 boys (4, 6 & 8 years old) who also has her own business Books & Pieces, which specialises in discount books for 0-6 year olds - very appropriate given it's World Book Day today!
Today she shares why it's important to do what works for you and make the most of the me-time you get (even if it is a few chance minutes!)...
Our latest interview is with Sally Dhillon. Not just a mum to her daughters, she co-runs two businesses, which she says bridges the gap between parenting and work!
Today Sally shares with us how struggling to conceive her children led to an inadvertent career break when her daughters arrived but when she was ready to return to work she found it hard to find fulfilling jobs utilising her skills that were also flexible around her young family...this led to her setting up her own businesses as she recognised so many other mums were in a similar situation.
Sally Marks is our latest Inspiring Mum interviewee. Not only is she a mum to two boys (9 and 6 years old) but she is also a Freelance Graphic Designer and a part-time lecturer on a Graphic Design degree course. She also runs her company, TotsUp Ltd, an idea that came whilst potty training her son!
Today Sally shares with us why list-making, celebrating the little (and big) things plus pyjama days are key to Mum life!
